Our Privacy Policy
SnowBear’s first priority is to ensure its customers do not have to worry about the privacy of their personal information. In compliance with the Personal Information Protection & Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) passed January 1, 2004, SnowBear has developed the following policies surrounding the collection, use, disclosure, retention, security and disposal of personal information. SnowBear will not use or disclose personal information for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of an individual or as required by law. SnowBear collects personal information from its customers to 1) provide product warranty coverage; 2) answer inquiries; 3) analyze market data; 4) provide marketing information; 5) process/charge orders 6) ship orders (such as trailer accessories, plow accessories, replacement trailer and plow parts, snowplow mounts).
Personal information collected for any of the above six reasons shall permanently remain part of SnowBear’s electronic database on a secured protected server, as part of customer case histories in order to provide accurate and efficient customer service for future purchases, inquiries, or warranty claims.
Any marketing and/or promotional materials will only be sent to customers who have provided consent and requested the information.
RE: Usage of www.snowbear.com and related brand websites
Customers who complete their mount certificate or warranty card information and forward it to SnowBear (SB) via mail or on-line registration at www.snowbear.com consent to having SB use this information to provide product warranty coverage, fulfill mount orders, analyze marketing information, and develop promotional efforts based on this data. SB will only use this personal information to mail out promotional brochures if the customer has provided consent on the warranty card by checking off the “I would like to receive more information about SnowBear Products” box. This mailing list will be kept confidentially by SB and NOT sold to any third party.
Customers who visit SnowBear’s (SB) website at www.snowbear.com and use the “contact us” email form for inquires or feedback, are giving consent to have a SB representative use this information to contact them to provide further information. Visitors who use the trailer or plow accessory order forms consent to having SB use their personal information to 1) contact them to verify this information, order accuracy and shipping costs, 2) process and charge the order, and 3) ship the purchased product to the address provided by the customer.
Personal information provided by visitors to www.snowbear.com for on-line transactions such as placing orders, activating warranties, and completing snowplow mount certificates is protected through the use of SnowBear’s secured server and firewall system so external third parties on the internet cannot view this data while in transit, or while being stored on SnowBear’s server.
RE: Updating Personal Information With SnowBear Limited
Customer’s can request the information within their electronic case history files only after verifying their identity with a SB representative in Customer Service. Any appropriate changes requested by a customer shall be taken as consent for a SB representative to update the file accordingly.
